Solution Requirements & Hardware Guide

To ensure optimal performance of the Broox Platform visual analytics (Traffic, Age/Gender, and Proof of Views), hardware must meet the following technical specifications categorized by detection levels (Tiers).

1. Intel Architecture Requirements

The platform requires Intel 10th Generation processors or newer.

We strongly recommend 11th Generation or higher to leverage the execution units of integrated Iris Xe or Intel Arc GPUs for AI acceleration.

For reference on CPU Benchmark values, you can check PassMark Software CPU Benchmarks.

Performance Tiers Matrix

Tier Detection Capabilities Min. CPU Mark (PassMark) Min. Graphics Reference Processor
LOW Traffic (Counting Only) >5,800 Intel UHD Intel Processor N97 / i3-1115G4
MID Traffic + Age/Gender >8,000 (w/ Iris Xe)
>10,000 (w/ UHD)
Iris Xe / UHD i5-1135G7 / i3-12100
HIGH Traffic + A/G + Proof of Views >12,000 (w/ Iris Xe)
>14,000 (w/ UHD)
Iris Xe / UHD i5-1240P / i3-14100

[!IMPORTANT] Dual Channel Memory Requirement: To enable Intel Iris Xe graphics and achieve MID and HIGH tier performance, the device MUST have two identical RAM modules installed. Single-channel configurations will default to UHD graphics levels.

3. System Specifications

Operating System

  • Windows: 10/11 Professional (64-bit).
  • Linux: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS or 24.04 LTS.

Memory (RAM)

  • Minimum Requirement (All Tiers): 8GB (DDR4/DDR5).
  • Recommended for MID/HIGH: 16GB (Mandatory Dual Channel configuration to enable Iris Xe).

Storage

  • SSD NVMe M.2 (Minimum 128GB) is mandatory for all tiers to ensure fast OS boot times and logging.

4. Video Capture Devices

USB Certified Cameras (1.8 – 2.2 m height)

Model Res / FPS FOV Typical Use
Logitech BRIO 4K 4K @ 30 / 1080p @ 60 90° Signage / kiosks
Nexigo N970P 4K 4K @ 30 90° Displays / walls
ELP USB HD 8 MP 1080p @ 30 80° Counters / POS
AverMedia PW315 1080p @ 60 95° Interactive zones
Microsoft LifeCam Studio 1080p @ 30 75° Basic signage

Cable Length and Extenders

  • Maximum recommended USB cable length: 3 m.

  • For longer runs, use active USB 3.0 extenders or active optical USB cables (up to 10 – 15 m).

  • For > 15 m, use USB-over-Ethernet extenders with PoE or 5 V PSU.

  • Avoid passive extensions to prevent signal loss or instability.

Minimum Requirements for Non-Certified USB Cameras

  • UVC-compliant (no driver).

  • ≥ 1080p @ 30 fps RGB (YUY2 / MJPEG).

  • FOV 80° – 100°, HDR ≥ 90 dB.

  • USB 3.0 / USB-C, ≤ 3 m (or active extender).

  • Manual exposure / white-balance controls.

  • Validate with the Broox Benchmark Tool.

IP / CCTV Certified Cameras (2.2 – 3.0 m height)

Model Resolution Lens Typical Use
Axis M1135 2 MP 2.8 – 4 mm varifocal Entrances / corridors
Axis P3245-LVE 2 MP 3.4 – 9 mm varifocal Indoor / outdoor traffic
