Installation

Setting up the hardware (RFID)

  1. Prepare your target hardware. All items should be labeled.

  2. In our example, the connection layout will be:

    • An Xperience controller (XN-185) connected via USB to the PC.
    • Antenna controllers (XR-DR1) connected to the Xperience controller via X-Talk Cable (CAX-M6W).
    • RFID Antennas connected each to its own Antenna controller

  3. Connect to the PC USB port.

  4. Once powered up, getting an RFID tag near an antenna should cause the corresponding Antenna controller to light up its LED.

Setting up the hardware (Wireless)

  1. Prepare your target hardware. All items should be labeled.

  2. In our example, the connection layout will be:

    • An Xperience controller (XM-350) connected via a serial to USB cable to the PC.
    • One or more Wireless Tag Extension Modules (EM-F#) preassembled to the Xperience controller.

  1. Connect to the PC USB port: Note that the usual setup uses a serial cable. To connect to a PC either the provided serial-to-USB adapter can be used, or some form of RS232/Serial adapter has to be wired.

  2. Once powered up, every sensor should be paired with one channel of the extension module.

See the XM-350 with EM-F4 Quick Start Guide from Nexmosphere.

Pair button method

  1. Press and hold control button A for a few seconds. The blue Pair LED will start to blink.
  2. Press Control button A to toggle to the channel you want to pair. The green LED of the selected Wireless X-talk channel will blink.
  3. To pair: lift the sensor which you want to pair to the selected channel. The green LED of the paired channel will be lit continuously for 1 second to confirm pairing was successful.
  4. After, the next channel in line is automatically selected to be paired. If the next channel also needs to be paired, simply lift another sensor.
  5. To quit pairing mode, hold button A for a few seconds. The status LED of the EM-F4 base station will blink 3 times to confirm exit of pairing mode.

It will appear as a COM#: port in Windows.
