Delivering Active Content
The place to set up the content to be played and the reactions to the different pick and place actions detected by Broox Sensor Node is Broox Studio.
Here we will describe a setup based on our example montage.
We will start by logging into Broox Studio
We will:
- Create the necessary Nexmosphere Triggers, either RFID or Wireless.
- Associate each trigger with a named trigger set.
- Create a playlist with the playing media (videos, images...)
- Associate each trigger set with a media
Creating the triggers (RFID)
First we register the RFID triggers we are going to use.
We will give them generic names, as they can be used for different products in different playlists.
-
Navigate to the Installations/Triggers section:
-
Select Sensor Node on the top menu.
-
Click on Add Sensor Node:
-
Fill the form. We name it
Nexmosphere Tag #2
, we select the modelNexmosphere RFID Tag Reader
.- We give it the numeric id
2
, the number in the tag.
- We give it the numeric id
-
Click on Create.
-
We repeat the process to create all needed tags:
Creating the triggers (Wireless)
In the case of wireless tags, the trigger is identified by the channel it's been associated to.
We will give them generic names, as they can be used for different products in different playlists.
-
Navigate to the Installations/Triggers section:
-
Select Sensor Node on the top menu.
-
Click on Add Sensor Node:
-
Fill the form. We name it
Nexmosphere Wireless #111
, we select the modelNexmosphere Wireless Tag
.- We give it the channel number id
111
, the number of the channel we've associated the tag with.
- We give it the channel number id
-
Click on Create.
-
We repeat the process to create all needed channels/tags.
Creating the Trigger Sets
We will associate each trigger with a single trigger set. Where the triggers were generic, the trigger sets identify the product associated with one (or more) triggers in a playlist.
IMPORTANT: The trigger set name will appear later in the analytics
For example, we will associate each trigger with a different variant of a brand deodorant.
-
Navigate to Campaigns/Trigger Sets:
-
Click on New Trigger Set:
-
Fill the form. We name it
Axe Black
, we select typeSensor Node
. This shows all the sensor node triggers below. We checkNexmosphere Tag #1
. -
We click on Save.
-
Repeat the process to create the four variants.
Creating the playlist
Now we will create a playlist with 5 images:
- One idle image (the one that shows when no interaction is detected)
-
Four images, one for each product.
-
Navigate to Campaigns/Playlists:
-
Click on New Playlist:
-
We name it
Axe Deodorants
. -
We add the five images on the media section. We can:
- Drag and drop the images to the upload area.
- Click on Upload new file, which opens the system file selection dialog.
- Import them from the Media Library if the videos have already been uploaded.
-
The imported images show below the upload area:
Associating Media with Trigger Sets
-
Next to every image, we click the Triggers: Add button.
-
We select the Trigger Set (Beware! Not the trigger!) for this image:
-
The Trigger Set shows next to the Add button.
-
We repeat this for all the images. We leave the Idle image with no triggers.
-
Finally, we Save the Playlist.
Creating the Canvas
We didn't create any canvas to show the created playlist before, as this depends on the display we use and the media.
Now we'll create an example one:
-
Navigate to Stores and into the created Store.
-
Navigate to the Installations tab.
-
Edit the created installation.
-
In the Canvas section, select Add Canvas.
-
Enter a Canvas Name.
-
Select a resolution from the drop-down, or enter a custom one.
- A Canvas delimits a space in the screen where Broox Media Player will display the content.
- You can create several canvases and assign them to different parts of the screen.
-
Leave the Campaign empty for now, we will create it later.
-
Click on Save.
Creating the Campaign
Once this is done, we will have to assign this Playlist to an active Campaign, and set this campaign to play in an active Installation.
-
We navigate to Campaigns/All Campaigns:
-
We click on Add Campaign:
-
We name the Campaign:
-
We can set a running schedule, or leave it blank for continuous display.
-
On the Playlists section, we select Browse Playlists:
-
We check the Axe Playlist we created and click on Save.
-
The playlist shows, letting us select the running days, date and time.
-
If the installation is not ready, we can Save the campaign, and set it later in the installation Canvas.
-
If the installation is already ready, we can select it on the Assign Canvas section.
-
Then, we can Save and Deploy this campaign, which will cause the installation to Reload.
Starting the play
-
On the Windows PC, we start Broox Media Player.
-
Broox Media player starts and loads the content.
-
The content starts playing.
-
By getting an RFID tag near the antenna and out, the content will react.
